Vaccination is part of preventive pediatric care. Your pediatrician reviews your baby’s age, health and previous doses to recommend the appropriate next steps.
Start with the birth and discharge records
Bring the vaccine record from the hospital, including any doses given and instructions for follow-up. Tell the pediatrician about special birth circumstances, medical conditions or previous reactions.
Ask which vaccines are recommended now, which can be given at the planned visit and when the next doses are due. Confirm current availability with the office rather than assuming every vaccine is stocked for every appointment.
Use the current clinical schedule
Recommendations can change and individual circumstances matter. Your pediatrician should review the current schedule and any catch-up needs with you. Keep the updated record after each visit.

For a newborn or young infant with fever, follow urgent fever guidance even if a recent vaccine might seem to explain it.

Keep the current record available, especially after hospital care or visits elsewhere. It helps avoid missing or duplicating information.
Can the office confirm which vaccines are due?

What if a vaccine was missed?

Can I assume a young baby’s fever is from a vaccine?
